My EEEPC Modifications

I'm the proud owner of a first generation EEEPC, the super-small 7" laptop made by Asus. As soon as I received my 4GB Black EEE I immediatly set to hacking it, with the help of the fine people over at EEEPCuser.com. I haven't done nearly as much as some of the other brave souls at EEEPCuser, but I've done some decent hackery.

So I decided I would take a break from modding the internals, and took a whack at giving the outside a unique look.

I used two cans of "Red Pepper/Safety Red" Krylon Fusion spraypaint (2 x $5 at the local hardware store). I tried to remove the "ASUS" from the front lid, but ended up destroying it (it just cracked- like very thin plastic), so don't try to remove it. I completely disassembled the EEE, removed the mobo, touchpad, and clicker, taped the screen, power button, and all the vent holes, and went to work.

Here are my results, and it looks great! Don't let the pictures fool you- it is red, not orange.
